I'm an at home mom, a SAHM. I like being at home, it let's me keep a close eye on what's up with my kids, allows me the time and flexibility to volunteer at my children's school and our church. And being at home gives me the time and space to pursue my interests in crafts, decorating, art, entertaining, and gardening, among other things. Unfortunately, raising the kids, volunteering in the community, and keeping the home are all very worthwhile activities that don't pay anything.

Before I had children I worked in corporate communications and technical writing. I once dreamed of writing fiction (I really don't anymore). And I've always made things. Early on I made tiny clothes and clay food for my dollhouse, an endless stream of paintings and drawings, holiday decorations, a coloring desk for a friend's little sister. . . Now it's things for my home, my kids, the holidays and exploratory projects into mixed media and collage. The urge to create is a constant and insistent force in my life.

I've read, heard, seen that the internet has opened a world of possibilities for people like me. So I'm here to see what I can make happen -- with luck make some money, but at the very least document for all the world to see that I really am doing something.
